DANLADI; Away points vital to Pillars

Danladi Isah

Danladi Isa says picking more points away will be vital in Kano Pillars' charge for the 2016/17 Nigeria Professional Football League trophy.

Sai Masu Gida registered their first point at an opposition's ground this season after a 1-1 draw at Rivers United on Wednesday.

And the goalkeeper believes that replicating such performance will bode well for the four-time topflight champions' aspiration.

"To be NPFL champions, a team must pick up points on the road and keep a 100% home record," he said.

"To achieve that, a team needs maximum focus and not just get carried away after just one superlative performance.

"It wasn't that easy but it's really good that we were able to secure at least a point in Port Harcourt.
"Like I have mentioned earlier, the target is to close the gap as soon as we can and remain very consistent.

"Rivers United had scored four goals few days before we met them but we had a game plan that worked well for us.

"Now the next target is our home match against Katsina United this weekend and we shall do that which we can to win. Having picked this first point away from home, I am confident that we shall pick more points on the road," he concluded.
