ADAMU ANNOUNCED NEW DATE FOR NUGA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP


All is now set for the finals of the AMK Foundation sponsored NUGA 3x3 Tour 2017 following the successful completion of the zonal elimination series in the Savannah zone.
10 Universities in the men category and 8 in the women category representing schools from the 6 geo-political zones across Nigeria are currently dotting their "I" and crossing their "t" ahead of the well anticipated finals holding in Abuja.
In their quest to ensure fair competition and a level playing ground for all qualified teams, the Chairman of NUGA Basketball, Professor Adamu Ahmed has announced a slight change in date for the official dunk off.
According to the organizers, after an extensive deliberation with participating schools and the sponsor, it was agrees that the finals will now hold between 4th and 5th of March at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja.
All participating schools and officials are expected to arrive the FCT on the 2nd ahead of the Pre-Match meeting/clinic on the 3rd of March.
In the men category, University of Lagos will hope to battle University of Ibadan, Nnamdi Azikiwe university, Benson Idahiso university, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nasarawa State university Keffi, Kaduna State University, Kano state university and University of Ilorin for the grand prize and bragging right as the winner of the 1st edition of the AMK foundation powered 3x3 basketball tourney.
In the women category, University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, University of Nigeria Nsukka, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Benson Idahiso university, Bayero university Kano, University of Ilorin and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria will slug it out for the cash prize and a giant trophy.
In a related news, the administrative department of the foundation has assured that everything is going according to plan ahead of the finals commencing on the 4th.
With the AMK Foundation multipurpose truck already on it's way to Abuja from its base in Lagos, the competition is good to go.
