BALA: Niger Tornadoes were lucky to defeat Gombe United

Niger Tornadoes head coach Abubakar Bala has admitted that his side were lucky to secure maximum points against Gombe United at the Lokoja Confluence Stadium.
Ifeanyi Okoye’s effort was all Ikon Allah needed to earn a hard-fought home win against struggling Manu Garba’s men on Sunday.
And the tactician lauded his players for sticking to details and assured they will maintain their fine run in coming games.
“It was a difficult one. We were very lucky to run away with three points.
“It was a very tough one we must admit. The most important thing is for the team to play together as a unit and to play according to the coaches' instructions.
“As far as I’m concerned, the boys are doing well. They are improving and blending well very fast.
“Our target from the first week to the tenth was for our players to understand the team's style of play and blend together.
“Gradually, we are picking up and understanding each other and always playing as a team. We want the team to remain formidable.”
Niger Tornadoes are fifth on the log with 15 points and will face Abia Warriors in a Week 11 encounter at Umuahia Township Stadium.
