SWAN Rivers describes the award on  Governor Wike  as well deserved considering his consistency in raising the bar of sports matters and effectively using Sports as a veritable tool to 'fast-track' Communal growth and Unity along the United Nation Sustainable Development goals as well as empowering and engaging our youths in the state and country at large meaningfully.

Governor Wike's inspiration to achieve so much in the Sports Sector and subsequent award of "Power of Sports" can only be found in the words of the inimitable Dr Nelson Mandela that "Sports has the power to change the World" and this has been your focus.
