RSSDI Boxing Day 2: Meshack Obomanu Knockout Jackiel Ayama To Qualify For Semi-Final

The Rivers State Sports Development Initiative (RSSDI) for U-17 enters day two as LGAs and Clubs sweat it out for medals. 

In the female semi-final 48kg light fly weight category, Sussan Philip of FBC won Oliver Jennifer of Etche LGA via unanimous decision, while Favour Wariboko from Gokana won Gift Rufus of Etche.

In the female fly weight 51kg category, Sxidi Fynebone of Onelga defeated Sunday Faith from Onelga.  Happiness Johny from Onelga saw off Gloria Fyneface from Ogu/Bolo.

Lagundeye Damilola of FBC lost to Racheal Wellington of Gokana in the female Bantam weight 54kg class while Friday Bright also lost to Beauty Tamunotonye of Akulga in the same category.

Elsewhere in the male light weight fly 49kg, Joshua Solomon of Delga defeated Uzoma Justice Etche, while Victory Gogo of Gokana won Tekena Jack of FBC.

Fly weight 52kg class saw Prosper Nkuma of Akulga defeat John Dick of FBC after his opponent threw in the towel. And later on Gideon Emmanuel of Ogu/Bolo won Chukwudi of Okirika via split decision.

In the light weight 60kg class Meshack Jacob Obomanu of Akulga won Jackiel Ayama of Okirika through technical knockout while Gift Oparaodu of FBC defeated Edoo Promise of Ogu/Bolo via unanimous decision.

Tomorrow will see Semi-final and final matches.
