CITA international School set to claim medals at the on-going under 17 Rivers State Sport Development Initiative.

The games master of CITA International Secondary School applauded Rivers State government and the organizers for putting up the first Rivers State sports development initiative together to harness young talents for the state.

Mr Michael Boikyaa speaking to www kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng believe that changing the perception of sports in the state and the country at large, there is need for sports administrators to go back to schools to search for future talents been the grassroots for sports development.

“Am just experiencing it for the first time and am so happy”. Boikyaa stated

“This will go a long way in building the younger ones from the grassroots; this is where they are supposed to start if we must change the perception of sports in this country.

“We need to go back to schools, back to the grass level from where we can work on them, start with them from the background and then see what they can specialize in as they move on in their career, some of them can make this as their career in life”. He added

Mr Boikyaa said that CITA International School is here to win, although feels disappointed that schools at their own level are not many to compete.
