RUSSIA 2018: Rivers State Government To Sponsor Players To World Cup
Governor Wike approves 13 player's trip to Russia to watch the World Cup as a means of gaining first class experience not only watching from television.
The State Government made this known to sporting world during a solidarity rally to support the award winning Governor by Rivers State Sporting Community in the state.
It will be recall that the Executive Governor recently was awarded with "Power of Sports" Award by the International Sporting Press (AIPS) in Burresel, Belgium as a signed of his numerous achievements in Sports Development.
The Executive Governor of Rivers State Barr. Nyesom Wike unanimously hosted the Governor Wike National Wrestling Championship and African Wrestling Championship in Port Harcourt and other sports scattered across the Rivers State.
The Governor (Mr Project) disclose that 5 players from Rivers Angels, 5 players from Rivers United and 3 players from Go-Round FC will be live in Russia curtesy of the Rivers State government.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Government has also concluded plans for the laying of Real Madrid Football Academy in the state, set May 28th, 2018 for the foundation laying.
"I wan to say that come May 28th, we will lay the foundation of Real Madrid Football Academy in Rivers State and to the Glory of God". Wike revealed.
"I have told the Commissioner for Sports, henceforth anywhere there is international competition whether it is Basketball, Handball, Wrestling make sure that our people go there, so that they can also learn and develop their talent and have experience". Wike Echoes

"At least, let our players also go thereand have a first class experience, not only watching from television but also watch it live".
These gesture from the Governor did not only show his love for Sports but has also demonstrated an uncommon willingness to ensure that Rivers State has what it takes in terms of galvanising experience for Sports men and women.
