NPFL: I Support Nights Football At Sharks Stadium - Bashir
Bashir Badawiy |
Ever since the merger of defunct Sharks and Dolphins to form Rivers United of Port Harcourt, the Sharks Stadium had not witness any league game, while fans of the defunct Sharks travelled to Elekahia to watch their darling team Rivers United played at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.
The Garden City Pre-Season Tournament reawakens the lost glory and memories of Sharks Stadium as fans of Port Harcourt clamour for more league games to be hosted at the Sharks Stadium to bring Rivers people closer to their club as fans turnout in mass to watch Rivers United take on Abia Warriors.
Mr Bashir Badawiy commended the good people and fans in the township for their peaceful conduct during the Garden City Pre-Season Tournament, and he believes that Sharks Stadium is a peaceful place to host league games.
“As the coordinator of my team Rivers United, I must support the Friday Night Show just the way it had been happening in Enugu." He told Kelvianomedia.blogsport.com
“We gave it a trial two days ago, we recorded success and the people in township came together to say they love football, we are the ones coming to Elekahia to watch football and we must give it to them. He added.
“For me we can rotate it, you play here and there but it’s left for my sponsor to decide. He concluded.
