NPFL: Rivers United Are Ready For The New Season - Eguma

Barely few days to the kick-off of Nigerian Professional Football League, Rivers United Technical Manager, Stanley Azunda Eguma says the team is well prepared for the season this weekend

With the recent success recorded at the just concluded Garden City Pre-Season tournament in Port Harcourt beating Abia Warriors in the final after a lottery of penalty  at the Sharks Stadium to emerge champion of the tournament.

Eguma revealed this to kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng in an exclusive interview about the team readiness for the 2017/2018 NPFL season.

"We are ready and we have been preparing for some time, we are really knocking the team into shape, technical and otherwise,” He added

“We have some new players in the team and we need to imbibe in them the philosophy that the management demand.

“The performance are encouraging, the players we have now are young and ready to go. He concluded.

The “Pride of Rivers” escape a late surge last season preventing the Port Harcourt base team from been relegated to the second tier of Nigerian League.

Rivers United will kick start their 2017/2018 NPFL campaign against the “Desert Warriors” El-Kanemi Warriors at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt on Sunday.
