NPFL: The Wait Is Over And The Big Question Arrives

The wait is finally over and action returns to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) this weekend.

The best league in Africa is back as teams locked it out in a blockbuster encounter at various centres in th 2017/2018 Nigerian Professional Football League season.

Teams are all geared up for the NPFL season with new philosophies from the technical crew which will positively prove decisive for any team winning the title at the end of the season.

Alot of re-enforcment/recruitment has been done so far by various team before the kick-off of the season in areas that the technical crew feel is necessary to cement the loopholes recorded in the previous season.

The most clamouring league will see 20 teams battle for one crown at the end. This alone will be determined by the results on the pitch which will guarantee either CHAMPIONS of the league or a CONTINENTAL SLOT.

The preference/opportunity of Under-rating should not be granted to new comers Go Round Football Club of Omoku and Yobe Desert Star who are experiencing the elite division for the very first time, if such preference is granted to them by the top teams in the league as a result of been rookies a never forgetting shock move could make the headlines at the end of the season. I wonder which team would want to be the first to experience that.

The defending champion Plateau United would be fighting to defend their title as well represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League, the case could be reverse for the "Peace Boys" making a difference for the Jos base team in retaining the trophy, recalling Enugu Rangers winning the league in 2015/2016 NPFL season but struggled to maintain top spot at the end of last season.

MFM, Enyimba International and Akwa United will also fly the flag of Nigeria high as they face other clubs in CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively

As the league Kickoff this Sunday which promises to be exciting and entertaining, the big question that comes to mind is; Which coach will be first to be axed by their club? Which team would be crown champions of 2017/2018 NPFL Season? Which four will be relegated at the end of the season? Which four will gain continental slot?

Meanwhile, here is the Match Day one Fixtures for the 2017/2018 NPFL Season.
