Rivers State Government assured BFN of full support ahead of All Africa Senior Badminton Championships

In
a bid to host successful badminton championships, the Rivers State Government
has thrown its weight behind the Badminton Federation to host Africa once again
in Port Harcourt.
The
Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye said this during the
unveiling ceremony of the official mascot for the all Africa Senior Badminton
Championships stressing the state government full preparation to host this
event and all the logistics support to stage a remarkable championships.
“We’ve
done it before, we did it last year in 2018, when we hosted the All Africa
Wrestling Championships here in Port Harcourt which was a huge success, so we
are prepared to do it once again”.
We
will give the badminton federation, as a government and as a people all the
logistics support they required to host this championship”. Iyaye told www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng
Iyaye
added by charging Team Nigeria to give Nigeria the best, assuring them that the
state will accord the team full support and motivation to enable them become champions of
Africa.
The
Commissioner used the unveiling to ceremony to plead with the Federal Ministry
of Youth and Sport through the permanent secretary of the ministry to continuously bring sporting event to Port Harcourt.
"You have seen what we have done, all we plead from you continuously bring sporting event to Port Harcourt". Iyaye concluded.
