African Badminton Championship: Team Nigeria to face Team Mauritius in final

After a scintillating performance from both countries, Nigeria and Mauritius will square up against each other in the final of the Team Event at the ongoing All Africa Senior Badminton Championships.

Team Nigeria pulled a brilliant display to set an unbeaten record going into the final of the Team Event to stage a blockbuster game against Team Mauritius that have the reigning Africa number one in the men’s and women's category respectively.

In the mixed doubles, Nigeria’s duo Eneojo Abah and Peace Orji surpass Daniel Sam and Eyram Migbozi of Ghana 16-21, 12-21, while in the men’s single Anuoluwapo Opeyori defeated Ghana's Andrews Ebenezer 16-21, 9-21

In the women’s single Dorcas Adesokan saw off Grace Atipaka 14-21, 9-21

Meanwhile, in the second semi final encounter, it was a tough game for Mauritius against Egypt, as they scaled through with 3-0 win over toughest opponent in the championship.
Georges Julien Paul, Africa Men’s number one 

Africa's number one, Georges Julien Paul and Aatish Lubah powered his side to claim 21-14, 18-22, 21-14 in three set of the men’s doubles over Adham Hatem and Ali Elkhateeb of Egypt making it 2-1 victory for Mauritius.

Kate Foo Kune continued her dominance in the women’s single edging Doha Hany 21-14, 10-21, 21-12 in a closed encounter after three set to defeat her 2-1 making it to the final of the Team event while Aatish Lubah had a smooth run over Abdelhrahman Abdelhakim 21-16, 21-11 in the men’s single.
Foo Kune Kate, Africa Women's Number one 

The winner of the team event will qualify for Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan.
