SBMF continue to dominance at the 1st Tonye Jekiri PHCity Basketball Challenge with brilliant form, leaving spectators with no option rather than asking for more.

The Soso Bobmanuel Foundation (SBMF) secured a 45-22 straight win over P. Town Ballers, making it their second win in a role at the ongoing basketball clinic in Port Harcourt. While it was P. Town Ballers second defeat so far.

Meanwhile, another electrifying and intense game was the one involving DA-F Kings and Ricday Basketball, and high performance display which happened to be the best clash ever in the competition.

DA-F Kings managed to nip a 54-50 victory over Ricday basketball after an end-to-end encounter, setting up the tune in the third and fourth quarter bringing their “A” game to bear.

However, Victor James, Coach of Ricday and Rivers Hoopers player voice out his sentiment attributing the loss to inexperience of his lads despite winning the first game of the competition.

He said “Is a learning process for us, my team is a young squad and the lads are always giving in their best, the game was very much intense and we were full of life bringing out our “A” game but inexperience happened cos they are young and are growing, each time we play like this we gather more experience and exposure,” James Victor added.

“Every game we approach is with a winning mentality doesn’t matter what happened in the previous game either win or lose, we have to put that game aside and focus on the next game, so tomorrow most definitely we’ll come out, play more intense and see how it goes.”

“Well I don’t, I just want my boys to have fun in the competition and you know one thing about sports you need to take it one after the other, so let’s take tomorrow game get us to the semifinals then we’ll know how it goes from there.

Like the saying goes “what a man can do, a woman can do even better” but this is a basketball challenge as each team of the competition is made to have one female basketball player to encourage the female players in Port Harcourt.
