1st Tonye Jekiri Basketball Challenge: DA-F Kings set to battle Okrika Hawks in final

DA-F Kings will battle it out against the Okrika Hawks in what should be an explosive final contest.


DA-F registered the highest points score of the competition 91-69 win over E-Bluk in Saturday’s semifinal to set up a blockbuster clash with Okrika Hawks.


Ezra made a 36 points with Peter adding 17 points to ensure the Kings established a comfortable lead. Ebuka, Malik and Balogun combined to hip more misery to their opponent as Sophia also got her fair share of the basketball points.


The third and fourth quarter saw a blowout for DA-F Kings grabbing a 20 points lead (70-50) at the end of third, going on to secure the victory establishing a comfortable 22 points (91-69).


In the second Semi final encounter, SBMF hope of reaching the final of the first Tonye Jekiri PHCity Basketball Challenge was cut off by Okrika Hawks. Their first ever defeat of the competition.


Okrika Hawks defeated SBMF 62-57 to seal their place in the final and also serve a glimpse of what to expect from them when they face DA-F Kings.


Nwaiwu Buchi shoulder the responsibility of Okrika Hawks amassing 26 points, Dikibo producing 15 points for the Hawks


The final is set for a thrilling climax as the basketball challenge comes to an end with a grand style of veterans games before DA-F Kings and Okrika Hawks take to the court.


Winners of the competition will go home with a cash reward and others items as the second team will also be rewarded for making it to the final of Tonye Jekiri PHCity Basketball Challenge
