Wikki Tourists dispatch 'Pride of Rivers' in Port Harcourt

Saidu Abdullahi and Hassan Musa first half goals secure maximum point for Wikki Tourists as they upset the host in the Nigeria Professional Football League decided in Port Harcourt

The Pride of Rivers suffer their first defeat of the season on Match Day 12 losing 1-2 to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi.

At the blast of whistle, both side trail tackles in a formidable fashion knowing fully well that any defeat would be their undoing.

Pushing for an equalizer from the host, there were calls for a penalty by the Rivers United players after Ossy Martins was hack down by Wikki Tourists keeper, but the referee had a good view of the whole action and called for a goal kick after judging that no foul play was made.

Meanwhile, the coach of Rivers United Stanley Eguma couldn't hide his frustration as his team lost. He also alleged that fatigue played a role in their defeat.

Rivers United now slip to the relegation waters, 9th on the log amassing 13 points from 11 games while Wikki Tourists moved up to 5th position on the log with 15th points from possible 11 games.
