As the final round of
AFCON qualifiers draw closer with great intrigues and fantasy across board
Gernot Rohr has come out to explain the continual absence of Super Eagles Captain
John Obi Mikel from the squad.
The Super Eagles coach
believes that players with experience still have a vital role to play for
Nigeria and if such player feels motivated to do so then the doors is open for everybody.
Speaking at the Press
Conference in Asaba, Gernot Rohr feels that this is not the right moment for
Mikel to come back to the National team due to his conditions and knee injury. www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng
reports
“Obi Mikel is playing
again in Middlesbrough since few weeks and his doing well now but he still has
a little problem with his knee, and it’s not the moment now to come back for
him in this conditions, there are so many games in Middlesbrough for him to do”.
Rohr explain
“If Obi Mikel is very
fit again, if he has the motivation, if he shows that he is better than the
other people we have, the door is open for everybody”.
“We are watching we are
seeing what is happening and we will see if he can come back one day, we also need
the experience in our team we are so young players, again I think we are even younger
than the last list so the experience of such a player could be interesting”.
Gernot Rohr added.
