BFN unveiled official mascot for 2019 All Africa Senior Badminton Championship

The mascot unveiling which is a reflection of the Rivers people nickname 'Alabo the Shutter' will be on parade all throughout the Championship at the Alfred Diete Spiff Sports Complex.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Port Harcourt, the President of Badminton Federation in Nigeria Francis Orbih revealed that the idea of the mascot design was prior source from residents of Rivers State and the significance of the mascot design.
"In conceptualising the mascot, the BFN prior source the mascot design idea from residents of Rivers State at the end of the mascot design competition a winner emerged from residents of Port Harcourt who has won a cash prize of One Hundred Thousand Naira, the presentation of the prize money will be done at the Championship proper". Orbih said.
"The mascot has been designed significantly with the cultural realities OF Rivers State as one of Nigeria’s most culturally diverse state, Rivers State provided a rich context for the development of the mascot, we are indeed proud to have developed this iconic mascot which we believe will be ever green in the minds of residents of Rivers State".
The Badminton supremo Francis Orbih also revealed to www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng that eighteen countries has registered for this year All Africa Senior Badminton Championship showpiece event.
"Already we have 18 countries that has registered for this showpiece event and we shall be seeing those countries shortly". Francis Said.
The 2019 All Africa Senior Badminton Championship will hold from 22nd to 28th April at the Alfred Diete Spiff Sports Complex in Port Harcourt
