SWAN Rivers Set for 2018 Award Ceremony

The Rivers State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria set for its maiden edition of award celebration to recognise the creme de la creme of Sports Journalism whether it be Writing, Broadcasting or Photography. 

The award ceremony is a focal point of the association where sports writing and broadcasting excellence is celebrated and recognised towards sports development in the state.

As well as recognising professional excellence, the awards provides media representatives with the opportunity to network with peers and key representatives of the sports industry.

There are various categories outlined for members to nominate preferred candidate of their choice who where outstanding particularly in 2018

The various categories includes: Sports Writer of the year (Print), Sports Presenter of the year (Radio), Sports Photographer of the year, Sports Presenter of the year (TV), Grassroots Sports Writer of the year, Sports Editor of the year, Female Sports Writer of the year, Sports Analyst of the year (Broadcast) and Sports Blogger of the year award honours a member of Rivers SWAN who has made an outstanding contribution towards sports journalism and the growth of the association.

During an emergency Congress of the association held in Port Harcourt, www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng gathered that high profile dignitaries in the state are set to grace the prestigious events slated for March.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria Football, Chief Adokiye Amiesimaka (Owolo), MON, JP, as chairman, the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, POS Africa, as Special Guest of Honour, Bro. Felix Obuah, founder Go-Round Football Club Omoku and Hon. Boma Iyaye, the Honourable Commissioner of Sports Rivers, as Guests of Honour,

The 2018 award ceremony holds on Friday 29th of March 2019 at Landmark Hotel D/line Port Harcourt.
