Port Harcourt To Host Super Eagles Friendly Against Congo DR

President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Melvin Pinnick led a high profile delegation to Port Harcourt early hours of Thursday morning for an inspection exercise of facilities in the state for the upcoming International friendly against Congo DR on May 28th.

Delighted Amaju Pinnick expressed gratitude to the government and good people of Rivers State for hosting the World Cup 2018 preliminary qualification match against Swaziland.

Speaking in Port Harcourt the NFF boss said they were impressed with hotel facilities and they were sure that, given the assurances of Governor Nyesom Wike, the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium would be ready for that match in the next four weeks.

Reacting to the media, the technical manager of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr said they want to seize the opportunity to thank all the people that supported the team during the qualifier, as it all started here in Port Harcourt, which was a step to the group stage, even though the team is still a work in progress.

Responding on behalf of the Rivers State Government, the commissioner for sports Hon. Boma Iyaye assures NFF, the Super Eagles a wonderful stay in terms of accommodation, the welfare, and also the facility which they are going to play, we will make sure every thing are in top notch, considering the fact that they are preparing for Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
