OBN Academy Mentors Basketball Players on Entrepreneurship

The founder of OBN Academy, Mr. Obinna Ekezie mentors players on a two day basketball camp in Port Harcourt tagged “Uplift African Youth Through Basketball” project designed to scout the next star in basketball

 

The former NBA star share more lights on the importance of basketball players becoming an entrepreneurs stating that they are  problem solvers in any society thereby creating job opportunities for the others as he charged the young kids to ensure that education becomes their top priority while horning and developing their basketball skills.

 

STATEMENT BY THE FOUNDER OF OBN ACADEMY: OBINNA EKEZIE

 

“Today we are here in partnership with United State Consulate in Nigeria to promote the ‘Uplift African Youth Through Basketball’ project, the aim of the project is to empower young females against gender violence and also to educate these kids about entrepreneurship using the basketball platform, Obviously they will learn about basketball for these two days” Mr Ekezie continues.

 

“During this program, we will be talking to these kids about live skills, entrepreneurship, gender empowerment and all those things that will help them becoming good citizens of the society. Basketball is a great platform to be able to impact education in this kids and also be able to have leadership skills and to encourage them through this program”

“Another thing I want to also talk about today is entrepreneurship mentorship, I strongly believe that entrepreneurs are the engine to economics growth in any society and we want to have these kids that we are working with today and even many more kids that are going to be part of this “Uplift African Youth Through Basketball” project”

 

“We want to encourage them to continue to do well in school, continue to improve their basketball skills so one day once they earn their education hopefully they will be able to become entrepreneurs”

 


“Entrepreneurs is about identifying the problems of the society and solving that problem, by solving that problem you create opportunity for others, creating jobs, so we want to use basketball to impact free of that knowledge through this project for these young kids that are participating today” Mr Obinna Ekezie Concluded.
