DA-F: Port Harcourt Set for The Future of Naija Basketball

Athletes for peace and reorientation inniative (NGO) in conjunction with the Rivers State Basketball Association to stage the DA-F Basketball Youth Festival in Port Harcourt


The event which is tagged "The Future of Naija Basketball" will feature teams from academies, state teams, youth team all over Nigeria with over 40 teams set to grace the basketball festival.


Teams will be placed into Four categories of the competition having the Under 13 mix boys and girls, under 16 boys, under 18 ladies and under 19 men aiming for victory.


The week long Basketball Youth Festival would kick off 12 September 2021 as arriving date for the participating clubs while games commence on Monday 13 October, 2021 at the Basketball Court in Port Harcourt.



Speaking at the press conference, the brain behind the Youth Basketball Festival, Mr Fubara Onyanabo disclosed the essence for the competition.


"The essence of the youth basketball festival is to peep into the future that will be represented by the 36 states in the country,"


"It is very different, I have always done camps and clinics for kids, training from January to December every year is a nonstop Program for DA-F Basketball," Coach Fubara echoes.


"Is to channel the energy of our youth into positive production, the idea is for clubs and teams to develop themselves,"



He further explain the impact of DA-F Basketball and the gains from the Program.


"Our impact goes beyond inside and outside the basketball court, DA-F Basketball is like a conrrectional centre where we correct and instilled discipline,"


"Most times parents are the ones that will report the kids attitude at home to us, and we will discipline the kids.


The Future of Naija Basketball is being Championed by individual support in collaboration with the State Basketball Association and DA-F Basketball
