Nalrish Basketball Classic: Warriors setup Tigers Final

Two Semifinal games went down in an electrifying atmosphere at the basketball classic in Port Harcourt.


Although not the best of results for DA-F in the first Semi Final encounter, losing to Tigers 90-87 points. A game of resilience prove decisive as DA-F took the lead at half time 40-50 points.


Abdul Malik and Ebuka Okpara ran the show amassing 22 points each for DA-F, fell short in the third and fourth quarter allowing their halftime lead slip off their hands.


Meanwhile, Baba Lefty free throws and two pointers shoot accumulating into 48 points set the momentum for Tigers to equal the score in the third quarter (67-67) going further to seal the victory in the fourth quarter.

Delighted coach of Tigers, Tekena Cyril Jr said there aim is to win the maiden edition of Basketball tournament.


"Anybody can come, we are ready for any team, winning is our culture so we are here to win the Nalrish basketball classic,"


In the second semi final game, Olumeni Warriors booked their place in the Final of the competition thanks to a 82-70 points win over Elekahia Bluk.


Despite parading more experienced players with Premier League experience, E-Bluk took the game to the warriors in a box-to-box contest losing first quarter, (24-14), second quarter (19-16)  and third quarter (24-20).


Team Captain of Olumeni Warriors, Abayomi Akinwole disclosed that they are looking forward to an entertaining final against Tigers.


"This is a team that's been together for a while now, we've been together eight years, we've had consistent commitment for my team, play together, and we have a lot of consistence continuity, so that has been part of our team success over the years.


According to him "That's what we look forward to, we look forward to a very entertaining game, we don't take anything for granted, but coming into any tournament, we are optimistic that we will make it up to the end".


The final between Olumeni Warriors and Tigers will see two teams yet to loose a single game square up for the grand prize at the basketball court in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
