The 2018 World Cup kicks off on June 14 as host Russia takes on Saudi Arabia in the opening game to get the world cup party started


ARGENTINA
A strong force to reckon with when it comes to their experience in the world cup and the man in between the thick and thin of the Argentine team Lionel Messi providing all the necessary dazzling and ensuring victory for his team.

Argentina have reach the world cup finals for a record five times and have won it twice in 1978 when they hosted the tournament and later won it in Mexico 1986 defeating West Germany 3-2 to clinch the title.

Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala (both Juventus), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) will all lead the front line for the Argentine side in this year FIFA World Cup in Russia

CROIATIA
A well compact Croatian side that will possible be a team to reckon with in group D shows a lot to watch out for when the World Cup gets underway in Russia.

A team that had players like Luka Modric of Real Madrid, Ivan Rakitic of Barcelona, Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan, and Mario Mandzukic of Juventus the world will be expecting to see the players replicate their club form at the international level.

Croatia is hopeful of surpassing the 1998 world cup record as they finish third winning the bronze medal.

ICELAND
Underestimating Iceland in the world cup could be a worst night mare for any team in the group with a team that happens to a giant killer that knock out England to progress to quarter finals of Europe 2016.

Iceland will feature at the World Cup for the first time in their history beating Kosovo 2-0 at Reykjavik to become the smallest nation to qualify for the World Cup.  They will appear for their second major international tournament, after qualifying for UEFA Euro 2016 two years earlier.

At the biggest of tournaments for the first time in their history, there's high expectations and unmatched excitement based on the marvellous improvement this team has shown over the last several years. This is an underdog that is capable of making a run with players like Gylfi Sigurdsson and Albert Gudmundsson.

NIGERIA
Nigeria is yet to get to the peak of playing as many football enthusiasts really want the team hit expected height but that should not be a push over from other teams in the group.


Nigeria is the first African country to qualify for the FIFA 2018 World Cup from the group of death that has champions of the African continent. Nigeria sealed off their world cup place defeating Zambia 1-0 in Uyo with a game to spare against Algeria


Mikel John Obi, Victor Moses, Odion Ighalo, Alex Iwobi all have a task to lead Nigeria surpass the round of sixteen by getting to the quarter finals stage and beyond for the first time since making appearance at the World Cup tournament.
