By Eyo Kelvin
The 2018 World Cup kicks off
on June 14 as host Russia takes on Saudi Arabia in the opening game to get the
world cup party started
ARGENTINA
A strong force to reckon with when it comes to their
experience in the world cup and the man in between the thick and thin of the
Argentine team Lionel Messi providing all the necessary dazzling and ensuring
victory for his team.
Argentina have reach the world cup finals for a record five
times and have won it twice in 1978 when they hosted the tournament and later
won it in Mexico 1986 defeating West Germany 3-2 to clinch the title.
Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gonzalo Higuain, Paulo Dybala (both
Juventus), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City) will all lead the front line for the
Argentine side in this year FIFA World Cup in Russia
CROIATIA
A well compact Croatian
side that will possible be a team to reckon with in group D shows a lot to
watch out for when the World Cup gets underway in Russia.
A team that had players
like Luka Modric of Real Madrid, Ivan Rakitic of Barcelona, Ivan Perisic of
Inter Milan, and Mario Mandzukic
of Juventus the world will be expecting to see the players replicate
their club form at the international level.
Croatia is hopeful of
surpassing the 1998 world cup record as they finish third winning the bronze
medal.
ICELAND
Underestimating Iceland
in the world cup could be a worst night mare for any team in the group with a
team that happens to a giant killer that knock out England to progress to
quarter finals of Europe 2016.
Iceland will feature at the World Cup for
the first time in their history beating Kosovo 2-0 at Reykjavik to
become the smallest nation to qualify for the World Cup. They will appear for their second major international tournament, after
qualifying for UEFA Euro 2016 two years earlier.
At the biggest of tournaments for the first time in their
history, there's high expectations and unmatched excitement based on the
marvellous improvement this team has shown over the last several years. This is
an underdog that is capable of making a run with players like Gylfi Sigurdsson and Albert Gudmundsson.
NIGERIA
Nigeria is yet to get
to the peak of playing as many football enthusiasts really want the team hit
expected height but that should not be a push over from other teams in the
group.

African country to qualify for the FIFA 2018 World Cup from the group of death
that has champions of the African continent. Nigeria sealed off
their world cup place defeating Zambia 1-0 in Uyo with a game to spare against
