Go Round pip Lobi Stars

Shedrack Oghali scored the winner as Go Round overcame league leaders Lobi Stars 1-0 in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match played in Omoku.

The sharp attacker netted from close range in the 68th minute via a diving header from Kamaru Ogunjobi sublime cross at the KrisDera Hotel Stadium, to seal the win for the Omoku bubbles.

Go Round made life complicated for themselves by fluffing a plethora of chances when cold-bloodedness and precision by their attackers could have ended the game as a contest long before the end of first half.

Lobi Stars, content with adopting the safety first approach before then in the first half, had to predictably come out of their shells in the second half as the game improved as a spectacle.

Both sides did trade chances though but Go Round did enough to close out the win which saw them leave the relegation zone for the first time in weeks.

Speaking to www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng Lobi Stars technical manager, Solomon Ogbeide voice the secret of his side maintaining top of the log before embarking on the break.

"The League is still a marathon, any match you played you must take positive and negative, we've seen it all and I assure you that we will go back and correct every lapses, and see that we will come out smoking immediately the break is over.

"Molitvation, determination and the Self belief that we can do it is what is keeping us going, I want to say that we have what it takes to go for the league share". He added

Delighted Ngozi Elechi, the head coach of Go Round also took the time to discuss his side’s performance.

"We won the table toppers, this shows that the club have improved tremendously the way they played today, which was a deserved win.

"The consentration was huge touching the ball around by ensuring that Lobi did not get the ball, yes is to keep the performance like this away from home and at home to remain a float on the log. He added.

Sunday’s result means that Go Round move up out of the relegation zone to sixteenth position on the log with twenty nine points while Lobi Stars remained on top of the log with fourty three points from twenty four matches to proceed into the world cup break.
