Plateau United, MFM And Akwa United Progresses To Next Round On The Continent

Plateau United, MFM and Akwa United flying the flag of Nigeria on the continent all progress to the next round of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively after their impressive display.

Nigerian Professional Football League Champions Plateau United progresses to the next round of the CAF Champions League to book a date with Etoile Du Sahel of Tunisia.

Plateau United won their two legs encounter against Eding Sports of Cameroon 4-0 on Aggregate after the first leg ended 3-0 in Jos, Nigeria and the reverse fixture ended 0-1 in Cameroon in favour of the league champions Plateau United.

The Jos base team continues their impressive form in the continent as a true champion of the Nigerian Professional Football League not leaving any stone unturned.

In the other fixtures of the CAF Champions league Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry (MFM) also qualify for the next round of the competition with a comfortable 1-0 home win over AS Real Bamako of Mali at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos with an aggregate of 2-1 after the first encounter ended in 1-1 draw in Mali.

The next round of the CAF Champions League will played on the 06th of March, 2018 with MFM playing at home to MC Algiers of Algeria while Plateau United traveled to take on Etoile Sportif Du Sahel of Tunisia.

Akwa United seems to have been written off after their first legs encounter ended 1-2 given Hawks of Gambia advantage with an away goal rule in Uyo, however the "Promise Keepers" do not relent in their quest on the continent to rejuvenate thier ambition of winning the reverse fixture.

The "Promise Keepers" does the unthinkable by defeating Hawks 0-2 in Gambia to progress to the next round of CAF Confederation Cup with an aggregate 2-3 to set a tie with Al-Ittihad of Libya.
