HOOPERS AIM FOR A WINNING FAREWELL TO FANS

As the 2017 Kwese Premier Basketball League reaches the home straight, Atlantic Conference leaders, Rivers Hoopers have set their sights on wrapping up their home schedule with convincing victories.

Hoopers have been dominant on home court this season, losing just one of their 12 games at the Niger Street fortress with the only loss against Conference rivals, Kwara Falcons on June 29.

The KingsMen will entertain Police Baton and Nigeria Customs this week in their last home games in Port Harcourt in what has been a largely successful season.

Hoopers head coach Ogoh Odaudu, mindful of the fact that they will not see their fans again till next year wants to sign off on a winning note to create a lasting memory in the hearts of their fans.

"The fans are not going to see us again (except) maybe on television in the Conference playoffs or final 8. We are going to give them a befitting farewell," he declared.

Hoopers' last meetings against Baton and Customs in Port Harcourt on May 18 and 20 respectively both ended in resounding victories and Odaudu obviously has this at the back of his mind.

"It's going to be a great weekend for us. We will not take anything for granted. We are going to leave a lasting impression in the hearts of our fans.

"We are going to (ensure we) avoid defeat especially being our last games on home court this season," Odaudu added.

Rivers Hoopers will host Police Baton on Thursday and then play against Nigeria Customs on Saturday both in Port Harcourt.
