Akande To Be Back Soon and Thank Fans After Operation

Rivers United goalkeeper Abiodun Akande is very much optimistic of returning back to action after successful operation.

Abiodun Akande suffered right footed fracture during their 3-1 win over Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in the Nigerian Professional Football League match day 31 in Port Harcourt.

Akande also seize the opportunity to express joy and happiness for the support he has received so far from the state government, Rivers United management and fans all over Nigeria.

"I want to use this opportunity to thank our Governor His Excellency Chief Barrister Nyesom Wike CON, Honourable Commissioner and the General Manager Chief Okey Kpaluku for their support.

"I want thank Rivers United Supporters club and fans all over Nigeria.

"I really appreciate all for their support they have shown to me." he added

The goalkeeper who has been on top form for the "Pride of Rivers" as express confident of returning back to action after successful operation.

"The operation has been done and was successful.

"They did the X-ray today and the doctors confirm that the bones are straight.


"I will soon be back into action." he concluded.
