Nigerian Basketball Star To Host First Basketball Camp/Clinic for Kids in Port Harcourt

Athletes for peace and
reorientation initiative in conjunction with the Rivers State Basketball
Association set to host the first Tonye Jekiri Basketball Camp/Clinic tagged “Time To Give Back” in Port Harcourt.
Nigerian basketball star, Tonye
Jekiri will camp over hundred kids in a
3-day clinic from 4th – 6th May, 2022 at the Basketball Stadium,
59 Niger Street in Port Harcourt with free basketball uniform/meal for all
participants.
The Basketball camp/clinic will
feature skill development, teaching of life skill, mentorship and mini
championship as kids between the ages of 7 and 16 learning the fundamentals of
the game, development drills to improve skill sets, ball-handling, layups and
more.
Tonye Jekiri began his career with
DA-F Basketball Program being tutored by Nigeria under 16 Coach, Fubara Humphrey
Onyanabo believes there is need to give back to promising kids who have the
passion and to horn their skills in basketball game.
Tonye Jekiri is a graduate of the
University of Miami in the United State of America and has played for Nigeria’s
Men Basketball team, D’Tigers. At club level, played for BC Oostend in Belgium,
Asvel in France, Naskonia in spain and currently with Unics Kazan.
