It was a resounding victory for the 'Jewel of Rivers' in matchday three of the Nigeria Women Football League, walloping Royal Queens 4-0 in Warri.

The victory was enough to send the reigning champion to top of group B table before the Christmas break.

Ezenagu strikes in the 32th minutes open scoring for the visitors going into break.

Restart of the second half came with a fireworks of goals, as Deborah Abiodun wasted no time in extending the lead to 2-0 in the 48th minutes.

Royal Queens had their fair share of scoring opportunities, but lack of composure in front of goal prove decisive as they failed to convert with ease.

A brace from former Royal Queens striker, Chiamaka Okwuchukwu in the 83rd and 90+3 minutes secured a convincing victory for the visitors.

Speaking to www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng, Coach Okon stated that his side showed great intents and played as a unit.

“It was a good game and the players showed great potentials and winning mentality, this alone is a testament of what champions are made off,” Okon said.

“I had to commend my team because it wasn’t easy, but gradually we are able to come out of Warri with all three points, maintaining our clean sheet so far and unbeaten run in the league.
