Ibom Marathon To Hold Annually Says Organisers

Organizers of the Ibom Marathon Race have confirmed that the event will be held annually and offer participants as well as attendees a chance to celebrate this Christmas and New Year in grand style.

This was revealed by Convener of the race Abraham Ekufre to newsmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he said this is the first edition and maintained that the colourful race will be held yearly, meet up with global standards and reward participants.

The 25.34km marathon billed for the 18th of December 2021 will kick-off at Itam Junction by the Flyover and terminate at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State.

Winner of the male category will bag ₦1.5m, first runner up ₦1, second runner up ₦750k. While the winner of the female category will earn ₦1M, first runner up ₦750k and second runner up ₦500k.
