Governor Wike Pre-Season: Eguma and Boboye face off in Port Harcourt.

.......The Battle Between Stanley Eguma and Kennedy Boboye.

Eguma and Boboye go toe-to-toe at the ongoing Governor Wike Pre-Season Tournament in one of the most talked encounter at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt.

The “Promise Keepers” travelled all the way to Port Harcourt with a winning approach to claim the converted Governor Wike trophy topping the log with six points from two matches.

Kennedy Boboye have proven to be the missing manager in the Akwa United colours, since arriving at the Uyo based clubside winning two of his games.

Boboye spoke to Kelviano Media on what to expect in Port Harcourt “Definitely, I told them before we came here in Port Harcourt, that we are going to face same fate, we played straight three games in Uyo and everyone have to be ready and updated, the only think I pray for is injury free game for my players but three of my players are injured already but we have a replace for them”.

“We are not thinking about Rivers United, we are here to play, we just want to play any team we see, if they have their problem is their own problem, ours is to play and win or get a draw that’s what we think off”. Boboye echoes.

One of the longest serving manager in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Stanley Eguma still believe that his side is a work in progress despite struggling to impress at the Governor Wike Preseason tournament is quite optimistic of building a better team that will compete favourably in all front.

Eguma started his campaign on a losing note to Lobi Stars in the opening game after his side suffered a 1-0 defeat.

A defeat that left better taste in the mouth of fans that came out to watch their darling Pride of Rivers in a social distancing sitting due to COVID19 protocol.

Eguma said the competition will help build a better team. “We are trying out players; we are trying to harness them together and see how we could succeed to build a better team that can compete in the fourth coming season it is not about winning but the competition will help us to blend the team”.

Both managers are Port Harcourt coaches who have been in the business of coaching for long and the Governor Wike Pre-Season tournament is a moment to perfect their tactics ahead on the football season in December.
