SWAN Election: Abaje Sets Standard, Submit Intent form to SWANECO Chairman

Front line candidate for the Chairmanship position of the Rivers State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Mr Abaje Peter has submitted his intent form to the SWANECO Chairman in company of supporters who believed in the Rebirth of SWAN in Rivers State.

The move by Mr Abaje has set the tempo right in electoral process as recommended by laws as enshrined in the rules and regulations guiding the process.

Mr Abaje who spoke to news men at the NUJ Press Centre, Moscow Road said he is in the race for the plum job of Rivers SWAN to bring about change that will foster unity and peace of the association thereby making it a brand.

He noted that over the years, Sports journalist in the state and beyond are only comfortable in reporting football while other sports are relegated to take the back sit, that trend in his era as Chairman will change so that sports journalists in Rivers State can have an in depth knowledge of the working in other sports.

He called on all full members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria in Rivers State Chapter to come out en masse to vote for him on the 22nd August 2019.                 

The award winning journalists assured Mr Abaje Peter of their continued support in ensuring that the project gets maximum publicity and also noted that his reign will bring about unity of purpose that will put members under one umbrella so as to fast track progress in a geometric progression.

Abaje further thanked his campaign team and teeming supporters for the sacrifice they have put in the Rebirth project and said their names will be written in gold for the roles played in the wind of change that will soon take over the space
