Wasteful Rivers United held at home by Kwara United

Nigeria Professional Football League came alive in Port Harcourt at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in match day seven as visitors Kwara United held wasteful Rivers United to grab valid point on the road.

Waheed Adebayo had the best opportunity to open the scoring from three yards, nine minutes into the game decided at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt but watched in shock as he failed to connect brilliantly from Konan Ruffin's cross.

The best chance of the half fell to the visitors in the 21st minute when Segun Alebiosu produce great display to pass Gbadebo Samson, his attempt was calmly collected by the Drissa Bamba who was in goal for thb host.

United dominated the first half but lack of composure in the final touch proved to be their biggest shortcoming.

Unmarked Waheed Adebayo failed to connect brilliantly from three yards after Konan crosses into the box,

Ossy Martins was in his fine form against visiting Kwara United, creating and producing great runs and deadly crosses with the 'Pride of Rivers' dominating proceedings at home.

Yusuf Mohammed was the solid rock in goal post producing great save that denied the host all three points at home in a blockbuster encounter as plethora of chances were miss.

Speaking after the game, Stanley Eguma revealed to www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng that the players were too much in hurry to get the job done.

"My players were too much in a hurry to get the goal, we failed to settle, to put down the ball and then plan for the goal, they were in a hurry that's why we miss most of the chances we got, we got series of chances we couldn't convert them because the players were in a hurry to score and that cause us the match." Eguma added.

On his part the technical manager of Kwara United, Abubakar Bala express joy after his side grab a valid point on the road as the first team to do that this season against Rivers United at home.

Rivers United will now travel to tackle 'Pride of Benue' Lobi Stars in Markurdi while Kwara United welcomes Wikki Tourist of Bauchi in Match day 8
