The new players of the 'Pride of Rivers' unveiled at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium are Bamba Drissa (FC Ifeanyi Ubah), Wasiu Jimoh (FC Ifeanyi Ubah), Onyedikachi Bright (FC Ifeanyi Ubah), Ovunda Darlington (SKE FC), Nelson Esor Okwa (Go Round FC), Chinda Chizi Kaka (Lobi Stars), Nafiu Kabuga (Kano Pillars), Ossy Martins (Abia Warriors), Ubakanma Peter (MFM), Ugochukwu Leonard (Enyimba FC), Ogar David (Cynosure FC), Uchenna Martin (Cynosure FC), Kunle Odunlami (Sunshine Stars), Adedipe Kehinde (Sunshine Stars), Emotan Cletus (Delta Star), Abdulsalam Yusuf (Osun United), Konan Rufin N'Gouan (FC Monana, Gabon), Ademola Adebambo (Road Safety FC), Emekayi Temple (Dolphins Youth FC), Ihunda Chidozie (PH City FC), and Joel Jnr Uchehukwu from Rivers United FC Feeder C

The club's General Manager, Chief Okey Kpalukwu, speaking to www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng at the unveiling ceremony in Port Harcourt said unveiling of new signings before the league commences is part of the club commitment to success in every competition.
"Our focus is to do things differently and be successful in every competition we find ourselves".

"Although we want to rewrite our mistakes of last season and strive for excellence at all times, as this season is not exceptional to do the unthinkable". Kpalukwu said.
Rivers United will begin their campaign away from home to Niger Tornadoes after their opener agains Rems Stars was postponed due to the team gaining promotion to the elite division after an exhausting Nigeria National League Super 8 Playoffs in Aba.
