Independence Day: WAI Brigade Of Nigeria, Rivers State Command Emerged Champion'

The Nigerian Independence Day Celebration @57 was a remarkable, filled with glamour for the gallantry soldiers of War Against Indiscipline (WAI Brigade of Nigeria) in the state and Nigeria at large.

Rivers State was not left out in the celebration as the arena of Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt was agog, which saw government functionaries in their numbers, service chief, clergymen, and the custodian of our cultures, the traditional rulers.

Rivers State WAI Brigade returned back to the summit of emerging first position in voluntary uniform organization category which had been the norm for WAI Brigade in time past.

WAI Brigade of Nigeria, Rivers State Command defeated other counterpart of voluntary uniform organisations to emerge the overall winner after a tremendous display of class, breaking in flanks which left service chief in a state of ecstasy seeing the next generation of the Nigerian Arm Forces.

With their paraphernalia of ceremonial outfit which became a treat to others and which also prove as a base to adjudged WAI Brigade the winner in an atmosphere of panache, warmth and laughter.

Presenting the trophy to the Commanding Officer of WAI Brigade, Major Chima Wobo, former Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Hon. Austin Opara CON commended the brave display and doggedness of WAI Brigade, Rivers State Command for emerging victorious with handshake to the Commander for a job well done.

The announcement came shortly after His Excellence Chief Barr. Nyesom E. Wike CON, GSSRS speech to mark the Independence Day Celebration in the state.
