The 3rd edition of the Professor Ndi Okereke Softball Competition continued at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt, with Bayelsa and Delta Force emerging victorious on Day Two. The day's matches were filled with excitement, passion, and impressive performances, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
In the first game, Bayelsa defeated Imo 18-2, with Coach Ajayi Adekunle attributing the win to his team's preparation. "It wasn't luck," he said. "I was expecting more points, we haven't done what we are supposed to do." Imo's Coach Joshua Isaac blamed the loss on baton mistakes and lack of communication between his girls, promising to work on these issues ahead of their next game.
Delta Force had a flawless victory over Akwa Ibom, scoring 20 runs and conceding none. Coach Infuence Guede credited the win to the team's preparation, saying, "We've really prepared and all what was needed for this game was provided for." Akwa Ibom's Coach Nkara Anthony was not worried about the heavy loss, insisting that the future is bright for his young girls.
Badagry Angels also secured a win, defeating Enugu 8-3. Coach Rasheedat Bola was not surprised by the victory, stating, "I am excited but I was actually expecting this win. We came to Port Harcourt for serious business and not for fun." Enugu's Coach Annih Godwin praised his team's performance despite their rough traveling experience, saying, "My girls did well.
