CAF reinspect Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium ahead of Rivers United CAF CC quarter finals matches.

The move by Rivers United to return to their home ground, the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium for their CAF Confederation Cup matches received a major boost and yielded positives Thursday afternoon after CAF conducted a reinspection of the stadium ahead of United's quarter finals clash with Young Africans of Tanzania.

CAF stadium inspector Nasiru Jibril was at the Adokiye Amiesimaka stadium for the reinspection and after a tour around the main bowl of the facility, Jibril was impressed with the improvements made so far.

Jibril who is also a staff of the Nigeria Football Federation stated that the stadium has ticked 75% of the boxes of the requirements considered for CAF approval.

"I am impressed with what I saw here today, 70 to 75% of the maintenance job has been done. I think it's a turnaround from what I saw before," Jubril stated.

Jubril however noted that the VIP lounge and some parts of the Operational venue need finishing touches for final approval.

The Rivers State commissioner for Sport, Barr. Christopher Green who was on ground during the inspection assured that the tremendous facelift of the stadium will be sustained

"I'm impressed with the maintenance so far, it's going to be a routine, not a one off thing. It's going to be sustained. You can see the scoreboards are working, everything is in place. We will continue to do our best, until we get what we want," Green echoes in enthusiasm.

Rivers United will play Young Africans first at home on April 23 and away at Tanzania on April 30.
