Ambassador Congratulates Rivers United For CAF Confederation Cup Qualification
The
team’s 2-0 triumph after penalty shootout with aggregate score at 3-3 against
Futuro Kings De Mongomo in Port Harcourt on Sunday secured passage for the
"Pride of Rivers".
In
a letter signed by E.O Audu on behalf of the Consulate-General and sent to the
Rivers State Commissioner for Sports Honourable Boma Iyaye, the Ambassador who
charged the team to prove their technical superiority by winning the second leg
joined millions of football-loving Nigerians in commending Rivers United for
their spirited and disciplined performance against a very formidable opponent
which earned them qualification.
“I
am directed to convert His Excellency Ambassador Usman Ari Ogah's
congratulations to the Rivers United FC on their success at the return match
between them and Futuro Kings FC on Sunday 6th December 2020. It is our hope
that success will continue to trail them in their subsequent endeavours”.
