As the sun rises over the city of Uyo, the stage is set for a thrilling spectacle of athletic prowess, camaraderie, and regional pride. Team Rivers, a formidable contingent of talented athletes, is poised to storm the festival arena, bringing with them a fierce determination to conquer the competition.


The athletes are determined to seize the moment and make their mark when they face off against their counterparts from other states. Their excitement is palpable, and they've been sharing their thoughts on the journey so far, from the trials to the main event.


In a glowing endorsement, the Assistant Coach of Handball Team, Coach George Sosopriala has commended the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for organizing a world-class competition in the region. The praise comes as the Niger Delta Sports Festival gets underway in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.


The handball team, in particular, has been singled out for praise, with Coach Soso, noting that they are "in good shape to experience the game and gain more exposure." Despite the challenges posed by a short camping period, the team is exuding confidence, with a clear mindset that every opponent must be taken seriously.


"No team is an underdog, and we are not underrating anyone," coach Soso emphasized, highlighting the team's focus and determination. With the Niger Delta Sports Festival underway, Team Rivers is ready to unleash its fury and make a lasting impression on the competition.
