Skill Acquisition Programme is the Best Thing to Have Happened to Corps Members - Chief Chinwendu Chukwu
Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Chief Chinwendu Chukwu has
stated that the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, SAED
programme for corps members is the best thing to happen to them.Chinwendu Chukwu, Rivers State NYSC State Coordinator
He stated this today, while presiding over the swearing in
ceremony of 2020 Batch B Stream 2 corps members at the NYSC permanent
orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam Tai.
Chief Chukwu on the occasion, called on governments at all
levels in the country as well as critical stakeholders on youths development to
give priority to graduate youths empowerment by aggressively establishing
skills acquisition platforms such as the NYSC SAED programme so as to set the
nation on the path of economic progress and prosperity.
He charged the corps members to take the 9-day on camp SAED
training seriously and leverage on the advantages it offers them to become
entrepreneurs and business owners.
Speaking further, the Rivers State NYSC boss directed the
corps members to strictly comply with all the laid down Covid-19 guidelines/protocols
as established by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control in order to ensure a
safe camping exercise, while also charging them to be ready to leave indelible
footprints in the sands of time in the host community where they are to serve
during their primary assignment.
Chief Chukwu went on to advise the corps members to be
disciplined on camp, exhibit exemplary conduct, be dedicated and committed in
all that they are asked to do so as to enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding
orientation exercise.
Earlier, the Chief Judge of Rivers state, Hon. Justice Iyayi
Laminkara represented by Hon. Justice M.W Danagogo had administered the Oath of
Allegiance to the corps members.
Highlight of the swearing in ceremony was the sample signing of the oath form before the Chief Judge by representatives of the platoons and a three hearty cheers to the Review Officer and State Coordinator.
