Head Coach of U16 Male National Basketball Team, Coach Fubara Onyanabo who has been a role model to Basketball players in the state distribute food items to players and members of DA-F Basketball Programme in Port Harcourt.
With the outbreak of coronavirus ravaging the world and the country at large, which has put sporting activities on hold including basketball in the state, Coach Fubara has maintained that players welfare are his top priority.
The National Under 16 Basketball Team Coach, Fubara Onyanabo reaching out to his young lads of basketball players as a means to cushion the effect of Covid-19 on their families and to encourage them to remain steadfast and committed to their dreams and aspiration.

The food distribution went down at the Basketball Court in Port Harcourt witnessed by over hundreds of players turning out. The food items include among others, Cartoons of Indomie, Rice, Garri and Beans.
The donor, Coach Fubara Onyanabo while releasing the food items to players and members of DA-F Basketball programme said the initiative came as a result of one-on-one with parents and the condition they are living.
"As a result of the consistent lockdown, most of these parents cannot afford to give this children regular meal."

"Most of the kids before the distribution, have been doing one-on-one with the parents, I still go to the homes of these kids, when I see the condition, I will say send me account and I will just send something". Coach Fubara told www.kelvianomedia.blogspot.com.ng
"I think am just doing on a very small basis, I choose to say let me do it for all the kids, so all the kids can have", He added.
Coach Fubara who is the Senior Instructor of DA-F Basketball programme and Head Coach of Rivers State Male Basketball team said most of the parents do daily job to put food on their table.
"Most of the Kids here in my programme, their parents are people that do daily job to get money to put food on the table. DA-F Basketball Programme and partners trying to cushion the effect of Covid-19 on our members", Fubara echoes.
"Outside these that we are doing, we also have kids in our programme through the partnership with AMK foundation we are training personally in school, so we know what is happening now in Nigeria and knowing where most of these kids comes from, so I decided to do this for the kids", Coach Fubara Concluded.

The donation was appreciated by players, who spoke of the coach love for them and their families expressing they are surprised by the gesture of their coach.
