Iwobi Brace Sinks Argentina

Alex Iwobi was instrumental as Nigeria edge pass Argentina in a fascinating encounter in Krasnodar, Russia in an International Friendly match.

Argentina took the lead in the 28th minute after Ever Banega curls brilliantly into the bottom corner to give Argentina advantage after Daniel Akpeyi pick up the ball out the penalty box.

It was Argentina all over Nigeria half to get the job done in the first as Otamendi runs from 30 yards and threads a through ball for Perez, Akpeyi was right in position to save.

In the 34th minutes, Pavon dribble pass Balogun to square in for Sergio Aguero who waste no time to extend the lead as he send the ball to the net to hand Argentina comfortable 2-0 win over Nigeria.

Nigeria responded positively before the break after Alex Iwobi was fouled at the edge of box, Kelechi Ihenacho step up to curls it in brilliantly to make it 2-1 from the free kick spot to revived back the hopes of Nigerians.

In the 73rd minute, Iwobi fired home for his second goal of the night when he surged past his markers after he received a pass from substitute Ahmed Musa. Nigeria gained their comfortable 4-2 lead over Argentina.

Nigeria fought their way back into the game, to ensure the Eagles grab their second win over the Star-studded Argentines.
